Germany-based Deutsche Windtechnik has established a new country unit to provide maintenance for offshore windfarms in the UK
Deutsche Windtechnik Offshore Ltd began work in the UK on 1 August 2021. It will co-operate closely with the company’s onshore country unit, which was established in 2016.
The company has carried out a several offshore projects in the UK since 2019, replacing major components as well as work related to specialist services such as endoscope inspections of drive train components.
Deutsche Windtechnik Offshore Ltd managing director Carl Rasmus Richardsen said, “Our goal is to bring the advantages of our comprehensive, flexible maintenance expertise to the British offshore market and to get closer to local customers and the offshore windfarms off the British coast.”
Deutsche Windtechnik Offshore Ltd operations manager Rosie Beevor said, “We are working hard to provide a full complement of services for existing and new customers. We are developing sustainable structures and partnerships for logistics, spare parts management, training, project management and much more."
Ms Beevor has many years of operational experience as an engineer and project manager with OEMs and operators within the UK offshore wind industry and Europe.
