Golar LNG has appointed Karl Fredrik Staubo as the company’s new chief executive at a board meeting held on 13 May 2021
Mr Staubo has an extensive background in shipping and energy and previously worked for investment bank Clarksons Platou Securities (2010-2018) and Magni Partners (2018-2020).
Since May 2020, he has been the CEO of Golar LNG Partners, recently sold to New Fortress Energy. Since September 2020 he has also taken on the role of acting CFO of Golar.
Golar’s board also appointed Eduardo Maranhao to take over Mr Staubo’s role as CFO. Mr Maranhao has served in various positions for Golar including as CFO of Golar Power/Hygo Energy Transitions Limited from 2015 until its recent sale to New Fortress Energy.
Mr Maranhao has vast experience in international energy projects and infrastructure financing having worked at different financial institutions including Lakeshore Partners, Santander, Credit Agricole, Banco Votorantim and Citibank.
Prior to joining the Golar group, he was the CEO of Brazilian energy firm CELSE.
