Dong Energy signs framework agreement for Siemens turbines

Dong Energy and Siemens Energy have signed a framework agreement on the supply and servicing of a total of 300 6MW offshore wind turbines, a total capacity of 1,800MW. The turbines will be installed at selected Dong Energy offshore windfarms in the UK in the period 2014-2017.

The agreement concerns Siemens Energy’s newly developed 6MW offshore wind turbine, with a 154m rotor based on gearless direct drive technology.

SKF signs deal for Nautilus bearing

SKF has signed a three-year supply agreement for its new Nautilus bearing with a major wind turbine manufacturer. The new multi-megawatt turbine that will utilise the new bearing is intended for both onshore and offshore installation.

The SKF Nautilus bearing was launched in April 2012 at the European Wind Energy Conference in Denmark.OWJ
