Louis Dreyfus Armateurs and Tidal Transit have announced the delivery to GE Renewable Energy of Inno’vent, the first crew transfer vessel (CTV) designed and built entirely in France
The innovative design was created by Mauric, a naval architecture firm based in Nantes. Construction was completed by French shipyard OCEA.
Inno’vent is the first of two CTVs ordered by GE Renewable Energy for the Saint-Nazaire offshore windfarm.
The vessels have a hybrid propulsion system with batteries and a foil to reduce fuel consumption and improve performance. Together, they will reduce CO2 emissions by about 15% compared with a conventional design.
The CTVs are 26.7 m in length with a breadth of 9.4 m and draft of 1.8 m. They are designed to transport 24 maintenance technicians, have a crew of three, a service speed of 25 knots and cargo capacity of 10 tonnes.
