SeaRoc Group has extended its portfolio of projects with contracts being awarded for health and safety services to provide advice and support to key players in the offshore wind industry in Japan. This expands SeaRoc Group’s experience in the offshore renewable sector in the region, having been invited to present at the 6th Offshore Wind Workshop held in Tokyo in 2015 and having been selected by Taiwan-based CSBC Corporation to deliver training in March this year.
SeaRoc Group will provide a full training course to an expected 100 attendees consisting of developers, banks, insurance companies, contractors and members of industry associations. The training is being provided in association with ClassNK Consulting Services and will take place in Tokyo on 17 November 2016. The purpose of the training will be to raise awareness of the importance of HSE management and HSE risks associated with the offshore wind project lifecycle.
In addition, SeaRoc Group has been selected to share their experiences of the European offshore wind market in relation to training certificate requirements for offshore workers and advise on methods in which Japan could develop certification standards to manage HSE for offshore working. SeaRoc Group will be working with Nagasaki Marine Industrial Cluster Association to provide advice on effective HSE management for the Japanese offshore wind industry.
