Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has announced the results of its latest round of offshore wind procurement
The MOEA awarded a total of 2.7 GW of capacity to the developers of five offshore windfarms.
Taiwanese companies Shinfox and Synera Renewable Energy headed the list of winners in terms of capacity awarded.
At 800 MW, Synera Renewable Energy’s Formosa 6 was the largest project selected by the MOEA. It has a commercial operation date (COD) of 2029.
Shinfox’s Youde was the second largest project to win in Round 3.2. Youde is a 700-MW windfarm with a COD of 2029.
Other winners included Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ FengMiao 2, a 600 MW project with a COD of 2029; Corio and TotalEnergies’ Haiding 1, a 360-MW project with a COD of 2028; and Enervest’s Deshuai offshore windfarm, a 240-MW project with a COD of 2028.
One leading offshore wind developer to have missed out was Ørsted.
