Fire protection begins at the design stage 

The main thrust is that decarbonisation and the expanded use of alternative fuels bring new challenges. Through its Head Start programme, Survitec is working with shipowners, designers and shipbuilders from first designs, not only to ensure vessels are protected with the most advanced safety solutions possible, but also to ensure they can be operated and maintained efficiently throughout the vessel’s lifetime.

This includes remote monitoring, detection and maintenance through the development of remote and graphical monitoring solutions, designed to provide a digital version of a ship’s safety plan, with additional functionality such as real-time status indication of the fire-protected zones on board.
