FuelEU: facing the challenges and finding solutions

At the Tanker Shipping & Trade Conference in London, Vertis Environment Finance head of shipping Frederick Bouthillier addressed the challenges of maritime decarbonisation as EU FuelEU regulations approach, set to take effect in January 2025.

Highlighting Vertis’ partnership with STX Group, he explained their pooling approach to help shipowners and technical managers comply with evolving carbon standards.

"We believe the pooling mechanism will be a more efficient way to comply with FuelEU," Mr Bouthillier noted, describing it as a streamlined solution for regulatory adherence and emissions reduction.
