Future-proofing LNG infrastructure to avoid stranded assets

One of the key factors in assessing planned investments in new LNG infrastructure is the energy transition.

Future-proofing infrastructure remains top of mind for developers and investors, notes a leading executive for Avenir LNG.

“It is happening now and if you don’t take it into consideration in your current investments or decisions, you will probably have a stranded asset at some point,” Avenir LNG commercial director Jan Schubert said during an interview at Riviera Maritime Media’s LNG Shipping & Terminals Conference, Europe 2022 in London in November.
