Offshore support vessel operators would benefit from using the latest digitalisation technologies to enhance operations and profitability, while reducing costs and risks
CSM Energy managing director Johann Meyer explained how these applications can improve offshore operations and provide insight to owners in an exclusive interview during Riviera Maritime Media’s Annual Offshore Support Journal Conference, in London, UK, in February 2024.
He explained the importance of the company’s peak performance optimisation control room and the applications CSM provides vessel owners.
This platform brings together CSM’s own services and those from partners for performance optimisation, providing crew training, voyage optimisation and fulfilling environmental performance.
Mr Meyer said on this platform, there are digital twins of vessels, gamification training on vessels using virtual reality and augmented reality for safety and familiarisation.
CSM’s IoTLink monitors vibration maintenance using sensors and machine learning to aid preventative maintenance and extend overhaul intervals.
Applications are also available for monitoring and managing machinery health of the assets CSM manages for its clients, providing information to crew and superintendents, and to optimise fuel oil purchases and consumption.
