Alfa Laval has promoted one of its managing directors to lead its marine division as president
Alfa Laval has appointed Framo managing director Martijn Bergink as its new marine division president, starting 1 September 2025, as it supports the maritime industry on its decarbonisation voyage.
He will continue in his current roles managing the Alfa Laval subsidiary and as president of the group’s pumping systems business.
The current president of the marine division, Sameer Kalra, is retiring after a long tenure at Alfa Laval, which he joined when the company acquired Aalborg Industries in 2011.
Mr Bergink joined Alfa Laval in 1998 and has since held several leadership positions within the company, mainly in the marine division.
This division accounted for 40% of Alfa Laval’s order intake in 2024 and employs around 6,300 people.
It provides a wide range of products, systems and solutions for the marine industry, focusing on enhancing energy efficiency, decarbonisation, digitalisation and compliance with environmental regulations.
“I look forward to further developing the marine business to meet future needs as we continue the decarbonisation journey and seize the opportunities ahead of us,” said Mr Bergink.
