Allianz appoints head of marine insurance

In his new position, he will report to global head of specialty insurance Gordon Browne.

Mr Soja will continue to oversee his regional North America and inland marine portfolio until a successor is confirmed at a later date.

He joined Allianz Commercial in 2017, and prior to that he worked in senior marine underwriting roles for Chubb, Aspen Insurance and Tokio Marine.

Mr Soja has succeeded Ulrich Kadow as head of marine after he moved to a new role in Allianz Commercial in December 2023 as global head of product management and underwriting transformation.

Allianz Commercial has a global marine portfolio, covering hull and liability risks and insurance for cargo and, in North America, inland marine.
