Mike Hall has taken up his post as chief executive at Britannia P&I
Britannia Group’s new chief executive, Mike Hall, started leading the UK-based P&I Club on 1 January 2026, succeeding Andrew Cutler, who has now stepped down from the role.
Mr Hall joined Britannia in 2008 as an underwriter and was the group’s chief underwriting officer from 2014 to 2022, when he was appointed deputy chief executive.
He was also chair of the International Group of P&I Clubs’ (IG) reinsurance committee until the end of 2025.
Mr Cutler left Britannia following a distinguished career spanning nearly two decades, as he joined the group in 2006 and became chief executive in 2012. He was chair of IG P&I until his three-year term ended in November 2025.
“Britannia has a long-standing reputation for excellence, integrity and member focus, and I look forward to working closely with the board, our members and our global team to build on these strengths,” said Mr Hall.
“At a time of significant change for the maritime industry, my priority will be to ensure Britannia continues to deliver outstanding service, financial resilience, and long-term value for its members.”
