Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS) has appointed Øystein Kalleklev as managing director of Cool Company Ltd (CoolCo) and commercial director of EPS Gas
Mr Kalleklev will lead CoolCo’s management and commercial strategy while overseeing commercial activities across EPS’s gas platform. He brings more than 20 years’ experience in shipping, energy and finance, and most recently served as chief executive of FLEX LNG and Avance Gas.
The appointment follows the completion of EPS’s merger with CoolCo on 9 January 2026. Richard Tyrrell has stepped down as CoolCo’s chief executive with immediate effect.
CoolCo has applied to delist from the New York Stock Exchange and Euronext Growth Oslo. The company is now a wholly owned subsidiary of EPS Ventures Ltd.
The merger strengthens EPS’s gas fleet to 61 vessels totalling 3.7M deadweight tonnes (dwt) across ethane carriers, LPG carriers, LNG carriers and LNG bunker vessels.
Singapore-headquartered Eastern Pacific Shipping Pte Ltd operates a fleet of 350 vessels totalling 34M deadweight tonnes across container ship, PCTC, dry bulk, gas and tanker segments.
