ABL Group has reshuffled its executive team, appointing a new chief executive with energy and government experience
ABL Group has prepared its top executive team for future growth with a new chief executive with experience in the offshore energy sector and supporting Norwegian government offices.
Hege Marie Norheim has been appointed as chief executive of ABL Group, starting 15 September, replacing one of the group’s co founders, Reuben Segal, who has been given a new position.
She has served on the ABL board for the past two years and is currently director of transformation and energy at Paris, France-listed IT-company Sopra Steria.
Ms Norheim was formerly a junior minister in the Norwegian prime minister’s office and the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, and has 15 years experience with Norwegian energy companies Norsk Hydro and Statoil (now Equinor).
Mr Segel has taken a new position as ABL’s chief growth officer to identify new clients and acquisition targets.
In another move, ABL’s current chief commercial officer, Ian Cummins, will take on the newly created title of chief performance officer, tasked with strengthening the group’s previously announced drive to find operational efficiencies.
“Our main priority is to deliver profitable growth in a volatile energy and marine market,” said Ms Norheim.
“Volatility and new technology will create opportunities for global companies. We aim to achieve this by improving our responsiveness to change and helping to design the future of the global energy and maritime industries.”
