The International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) has promoted Caroline Jupe to become the organisation’s new chief executive officer
She will replace Theresa Crossley, who will be retiring after five years in the position, from 1 February 2023.
Ms Jupe joined the IMRF in March 2016 as fundraising manager before becoming the organisation’s head of fundraising and projects. She has played a key role in developing several IMRF initiatives designed to improve the capabilities and best practices of search-and-rescue organisations around the world.
As of the end of 2021, the IMRF had 123 members from 53 countries. It is preparing for the World Maritime Rescue Congress, which will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in June 2023.
The IMRF represents organisations and vessel owners who provide search and rescue services to save seafarers’ lives at sea. It promotes knowledge, intelligence sharing and co-ordination in search and rescue operations.
