Iridium appoints chief technical officer

He has taken over from CTO Hermon Pon who has retired. Mr Pelton started in the position on 17 June and reports to chief operations officer Suzi McBride.

Mr Pelton joins Iridium from Pryon, an artificial intelligence developing company focused on augmented intelligence for enterprises, where he served as chief product officer.

Prior to this, he was vice president of collaboration and devices at Avaya, where he managed a portfolio of voice and video endpoints, soft clients and collaboration services.

Before Avaya, Mr Pelton served as CTO and vice president for infrastructure engineering at Polycom and led Cisco’s corporate technology centre.
