AP Moller-Maersk has appointed Ole Trumpfheller vice president and managing director of Maersk’s North Europe Continent (NEC) area, effective 1 May 2024
Mr Trumpfheller will join Maersk from logistics firm DB Schenker, where his most recent role was head of global operations and chief operating officer, global contract logistics and supply chain. The NEC area comprises of Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland and the Benelux countries, and is one of the largest areas by business volume within Maersk’s global organisation.
In his new role with Maersk, Mr Trumpfheller will be based in Hamburg, where he has also been a guest lecturer at his alma mater, the University of Applied Sciences, hosting a seminar on International Supply Chain Concepts.
“It is a great pleasure to welcome Ole to Maersk and to our team. Ole brings with him vast experience across logistics and supply chain, as well as great knowledge of global customer management from his previous senior leadership roles”, said Maersk president Europe, Aymeric Chandavoine.
Prior to joining DB Schenker, Mr Trumpfheller spent several years at DHL as managing director for Europe, Middle East, Africa and managing director for south Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Speaking of his appointment, Mr Trumpfheller said, “I am very excited about my new journey with Maersk. What appealed to me specifically is the ambitious and exciting integrator strategy of Maersk, and I feel that my experience and knowledge will be put to good use in my new role, as we further explore the opportunities of integrated logistics solutions.”
