Catherine Mulvihill has been selected as the next chief executive officer of the International Foundation for Aids to Navigation (IFAN) by the board of directors
She will officially assume full responsibilities from outgoing chief executive Peter Stanley on 9 October 2023 following a transitional phase.
Ms Mulvihill brings experience spanning four decades in the marine industry, including extensive knowledge in container shipping and operations and ports and terminals.
She also has experience in marine insurance within both mutual management and the London and commercial markets.
Before joining IFAN, Ms Mulvihill spent two decades with Charles Taylor, latterly as managing director for Charles Taylor TPA.
Mr Stanley has been chief executive of IFAN for four years and will continue to serve on the board.
“Under his leadership, IFAN conducted a thorough strategic review, revitalised critical navigational aids infrastructure in the Middle East Gulf region, and implemented transformative changes in the organisation’s governance structure,” said IFAN chair Guy Mason.
