Captain Marcelo Santini has been appointed as international operations manager at Pacific Towing
He will help the Steamships’ subsidiary expand its operations outside its home market of Papua New Guinea, increase its salvage capabilities and add to the company’s oil and gas expertise.
Capt Santini brings 25 years of experience in towage and salvage throughout South America.
He has operated many different types of vessel, including oceangoing tugs, anchor handlers, harbour tugs, dredgers, pushing tugboats, tankers, container ships, buoy tenders, platform supply vessels, roro and passenger vessels.
His salvage experience in South America includes a multi-vessel river collision resulting in a fire and loss of life.
Capt Santini increases Pacific Towing’s oil and gas expertise, having crewed and towed LPG carriers.
