Saipem appoints new chief executive
Francesco Caio has been appointed chief executive officer of Italian offshore vessel and rig owner and engineering group, Saipem
Mr Caio has been chairman of Saipem since 2018 and chairman of Italy Air Transport since 2020. He is taking over from Stefano Cao who has served as chief executive of Saipem since 2015.
Before joining Saipem, Mr Caio was chief executive and general manager of Poste Italiane from 2014 to 2017. Mr Caio has also previously served on the board of directors of multinational companies in the US, UK, France, and Italy.
He has a degree in electronic engineering from the Politecnico di Milano and a masters in business administration from INSEAD Fontainebleau, France.
