Southern Devall Group (SDG), the combined businesses of Southern Towing and Devall Towing, has appointed Kenny Devall president and chief executive
Mr Devall was chief operating officer of Devall Towing and replaces Chris Sullivan, who served as interim chief executive of SDG. Mr Sullivan will return to his investment role at CC Industries, but continues to serve on the board of SDG.
An affiliate of CC Industries acquired Tennessee-based Southern Towing in 2019 and another affiliate purchased Louisiana-based Devall Towing in 2021.
Southern Towing, with a fleet of 27 towboats and 80 barges, is one of the largest transporters of liquid fertiliser along the inland waterways of the US.
Devall Towing operates a fleet of 40 towboats and 129 liquid tank barges transporting specialty chemicals on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway and Lower Mississippi River.
Southern Towing also promoted Kevin Conway to executive vice president and general manager.
