Svitzer appoints head of decarbonisation

He joins from marine coatings manufacturer Hempel and will use his experience to set an ambitious sustainability strategy for Svitzer.

Mr Prowse will also be responsible for introducing new products and offerings within decarbonisation, with special consideration paid to how Svitzer can support its customers to decarbonise.

This comes as Svitzer responds to shipping and port customers’ demands for green towage options.

As a first step, Mr Prowse will assess where Svitzer currently sits in terms of environmental impact.

Svitzer is already exploring how it can expand its services in the port environment to support sustainability, including a hull performance offering that would tackle the critical challenge of vessel operational efficiency for customers.
