Xeneta appoints Peter Sand as new chief analyst

Bimco’s well-known chief shipping analyst Mr Sand will begin his new role with Xeneta on 1 November 2021. His appointment comes on the heels of Xeneta successfully closing a US$28.5M Series C funding round valued at over a US$130M.

Xeneta said, “As chief analyst, Peter Sand will be responsible for delivering expert insights to strengthen Xeneta’s state-of-the-art intelligence software for both ocean container and air freight. His analysis will be invaluable to the company’s strong portfolio of multi-billion dollar brands such as General Mills, Volvo, John Deere, Amer Sports, Rockwell Automation, Volvo and CEVA Logistics."

Xeneta chief executive Patrik Berglund said, “Peter is a staple in the market who consistently gives a fresh and global outlook into the ins and outs of the ever-changing container shipping world. His extremely well thought-through market commentaries and expert insights will serve to further position Xeneta data as the go-to-source for accurate container rate information."

At Bimco, Mr Sand was responsible for analysing commercial markets based on global economic trends and events and their influence on trade. Prior to his time with Bimco, he worked with Danish dry cargo and tanker operator D/S Norden as a senior analyst and is a familiar face on global networks like CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg and the BBC.
