Schaller Automation extends intelligent oil mist detection system for small and medium size 4-stroke engines, VN301plus LIGHT
Schaller Automation, the market-leading supplier of oil mist detection systems on large diesel, gas and dual-fuel engines, extends its intelligent multi sensor system VN301plus LIGHT for smaller and compact engines.
Schaller Automation has been developing, producing and selling oil mist detection systems for the past 50 years. More than 58,000 engines on ships and power stations have been successfully protected.
Years of experience in oil mist detection have led to a comprehensive know-how of the development and distribution of oil mist in large engine crankcases. Schaller has used its approach of oil mist inlet tests to optimize the installation setup for its customers. This know-how led to the conclusion, that only active and compartment-based oil mist detection systems are able to cover all possible oil mist events in the engine crankcase and within the shortest possible reaction time. The outcomes are minimum repair time and costs as well as avoidance of serious damage to man and machine.
The intelligent algorithm of the Schaller VN301plus LIGHT system is able to detect all oil mist events by minimizing the number of physical sensors at the same time. With this intelligence, the system builds up an additional virtual sensor mesh to cover all crankcase compartment spaces to maximize the protection. This product evolution of the VN301plus, makes it possible to have on all vessel engines the same system equipment. Key benefit for the user is standardization of the equipment. optimization of maintenance procedure and simple management of spare parts.
Schaller Automation are experts on oil mist formation inside crankcases and analyzing its source with the help of intelligent marine engine monitoring systems such as BEAROMOS 2020.
