Japanese shipowner Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) and EDF Renewables have signed a memorandum of understanding to co-operate in the development of offshore wind and green hydrogen solutions
In a statement, the companies said they plan to collaborate and combine their complementary expertise and experience in offshore wind and green hydrogen solutions.
EDF Renewables executive vice president international operations Frèdèric Belloy said, “We are very pleased to accelerate our partnership with MOL. With significant growth ambition in renewables and more than 10 years of experience in offshore wind, we are keen to explore opportunities in maritime transport and green hydrogen and are committed to contributing to the energy transition in Japan.”
MOL executive officer wind power and low carbon Masayuki Sugiyama said, “We are delighted to deepen our collaboration through this MoU with EDF Renewables, which has significant experience in developing and operating offshore windfarms and green hydrogen projects internationally.
“We believe this collaboration will accelerate the development of offshore wind and green hydrogen projects all over the world.”
