US-headquartered LNG service provider offers market a variet of potential charter options for FSRUs by the end of 2028
Apollo-managed funds’ majority-owned maritime infrastructure provider Energos, which had been jointly owned by New Fortress Energy (NFE) until 2024, is canvassing for future contracts for some of its 13-vessel fleet.
Specialising in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) services, the Stamford, Connecticut-based Energos Infrastructure launched in 2022 and benefitted from NFE’s LNG downstream operations and development activities and Apollo’s investment experience in the maritime sector.
When NFE sold its 20% stake to repay debts and redirect investments, NFE held six of the charters for Energos Infrastructure’s fleet. At the time of Energos’ launch, NFE claimed it would charter 10 of Energos’ 11 vessels, at the time, for "up to 20 years".
Now, Energos has posted a list of available options for charters for several of its vessels.
Three FSRUs are coming to the end of existing charters by 2028, with Energos Igloo and Energos Freeze available in 2027 and 2028, respectively. Nusantara Regas Satu is chartered through December 2027 but is subject to an optional extension on its contract.
Six more vessels become available between August 2030 and December 2044, the company said.
And Energos is also marketing conversion projects for LNG carriers.
"Energos Infrastructure currently owns and operates nine Floating Storage and Regasification Units (FSRUs), two Floating Storage Units (FSUs), and two LNG carriers (LNGCs). In addition, Energos Infrastructure is actively advancing LNGC conversion projects to deliver timely and economically efficient, full-scale FSRU capacity," the company said.
