One of the largest players in the offshore support vessel sector has hired a director to take charge of a drive into the offshore wind energy market.
Maersk Supply Service has hired Lars Blicher as director for offshore wind.
Prior to joining the offshore service company in his new role, Mr Blicher founded Swire Blue Ocean, where he was chief executive, whose core business is wind turbine installation.
“Offshore wind has grown rapidly over the last 10 years. Not only have turbines grown in size, the market has expanded. Installation has become more industrialised, but there is still room for improvement to help bring down the levelised cost of energy,” Mr Blicher said.
“I look forward to working for Maersk Supply Service to bring new products and services to the offshore wind market.”
