M3 Marine Group launches London-based offshore brokerage

Set to begin trading on 1 November 2023, M3OBUK comes at a time of unprecedented growth within the offshore oil gas and renewables sectors, generating increased demand for broking expertise.

“The offshore energy market and offshore broking landscape are witnessing significant change due to improved sentiment in the sector” said M3 Marine Group chief executive Mike Meade, who is spearheading the offshore brokerage firm’s western expansion and will serve as M3OBUK executive director.

“For M3 Marine to maintain its position as a leading offshore brokerage and continue providing the best service to our clients we must adapt. Growing M3OB to London allows us to serve our clients anywhere and anytime, no matter what continent; and is just one of the many exciting steps we have planned for 2023/2024,” added Mr Meade.

Mr Meade expects M3OBUK to continue “the same high standard of client care and unrivalled broking expertise” as the group’s M3 Marine Offshore Brokers in Singapore.

Utilising M3’s more than 40 years of commercial and technical knowledge, M3OBUK will offer brokerage services for newbuildings, sales and purchase and chartering on a fully global basis out of its new London base.

Well known and well-respected, Mr Meade was named OSJ’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner in 2022, recognising his more than four decades of achievements in the offshore and maritime sectors. He founded M3 Marine Group in 2005 following a long career at sea and in top management at some of the largest offshore vessel owners.

Robert Day has joined M3OBUK as its managing director. Mr Day joins the brokerage from UK-based ship valuations provider VesselsValue, where he was an associate director and head of offshore.

Another new hire for M3OBUK is Charles Long, who was named a director and offshore shipbroker. Mr Long will focus on newbuilding, second-hand sales and purchases, demolition, and chartering. His experience includes roles at Offshore Brokerage Kennedy Marr Ltd, Seasure Shipbroking Ltd, and VesselsValue.
