A naming ceremony has taken place for Cyan Wind Seeker, a newbuild commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) for the Hai Long offshore windfarm in Taiwan
The naming ceremony for Cyan Renewables’ new vessel took place at Vung Tau shipyard in Vietnam, where it was built. The vessel was delivered ahead of schedule and will shortly commence operations on a 15-year charter supporting Siemens Gamesa on the Hai Long project.
Cyan Wind Seeker is equipped with an advanced walk-to-work system and dynamic positioning, and with Siemens BlueDrive and hybrid battery systems, which reduce fuel consumption and emissions. The vessel’s Comfort-class cabins ensure a quieter environment for those on board.
The vessel walk-to-work gangway and elevator enable windfarm technicians to access transition pieces. A stern boat landing is also part of the design for safe personnel and equipment transfer.
The vessel’s propulsion includes two aft azimuth propellers, two retractable thrusters, one forward tunnel thruster and an integrated energy storage system for improved efficiency and optimal fuel consumption.
Cyan Renewables said the vessel’s delivery, “reflects a clear strategy of seeking long-duration contracts, high-quality counterparties and providing future-ready, efficient assets.”
