The leading Indian support vessel operator, Garware Offshore Services, has announced details of a planned expansion. The company has acquired a new PSV, Kailash, which will leave for India for a three-year contract with Transocean. The company acquired the ship from the Norwegian builder Havyard Leirvik AS.
Garware currently has four AHTS's deployed with the Oil & Natural Gas Commission (ONGC) until May 2007, and its first PSV, Everest, is currently working with British Gas.
Commenting on the plans, Aditya Garware, vice chairman and managing director, said: “Oil and gas exploration activities across the globe have seen huge investments. India, too, is encouraging public and private participation under new government policies. The acquisitions are part of our expansion strategy, and we aim to have 13-14 vessels in our fleet by 2010.” OSJ
