Norwegian offshore vessel operator Siem Offshore has secured contract extensions for two offshore subsea construction vessels
GE Renewable Energy has exercised the remaining options for Siem Stingray, extending the vessel’s utilisation into Q1 2022. The firm six-month contract commenced in April this year.
In a statement, Siem Offshore said, “The extension reconfirms that the company plays an important role in servicing the renewable energy segment, and we are very pleased to see a key client such as GE Renewable Energy extend our professional relationship.”
A second vessel, Siem Spearfish, has also had its contract extended with an undisclosed subsea construction company in the Gulf of Mexico. The vessel will continue to perform its current duties under subsea construction work and the vessel will continue to be employed well into Q1 2022, with corresponding new options issued thereafter.
Earlier this year, Siem Spearfish was awarded a two-month contract in west African waters.
