The VisionAnchor system incorporates satellite navigation systems and video monitoring to provide a live feed of the anchor to a smartphone
The pioneering VisionAnchor system development introduces a safety system which sounds an alarm if the anchor moves and poses danger, allowing the user to react quickly.
Designed for boats, this simple solution could be scaled up for commercial vessels and has won the GSA MyGalileoSolution category at the competition organised by the European GNSS Agency (GSA).
The SeaVision start-up beat more than 355 teams from all over the EU to secure an investment of €40,000 (US$48,000) which it will use to further develop its smart system. The system uses a high-resolution camera and IR LED to enable it to be used at night.
VisionAnchor brings solutions for areas of conversation with protected underwear vegetation such as coral reefs and endangered seaweed.
One of SeaVision’s founders, Matija Jašarov, said, “Being placed at the very top of the European start-up companies is an honour and proof we are developing a system that brings useful solutions to its users as well as for the preservation of our planet.”
He added that the financial investment will allow SeaVision to offer the VisionAnchor System to the first users for testing in a matter of months.
The GSA organises the MyGalileoSolution competition for a new generation of entrepreneurs and start-ups to bring innovative solutions connected to the use of European space forward. The MyGalileoSolution category awards companies that further address strategic challenges such as smart transport, crisis response, and cyber security.
