GMT - ONLINESaipem has been awarded contracts in Guyana and Egypt worth approximately US$1.2Bn
The first contract was awarded by ExxonMobil Guyana for the UARU oil field development project, in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana at a water depth of around 2,000 m.
The contract scope includes the design, fabrication and installation of subsea structures, risers, flowlines and umbilicals for a large subsea production facility.
Saipem was previously awarded four subsea contracts by ExxonMobil Guyana for developments in the same area, namely Liza Phase 1 and 2, Payara, and Yellowtail, and will now perform the operations using its crane ship FDS2 and crane-lay vessel Constellation.
Subject to the necessary government approvals, project sanction by ExxonMobil Guyana and its Stabroek block coventurers and an authorisation to proceed with the final phase, the award will allow Saipem to start some limited activities, namely detailed engineering and procurement.
Egypt’s Petrobel awarded the second contract for the transport, installation and precommissioning of 170 km of umbilicals for the Zohr Field, to be transported and installed between the central control platform at 70 m water depth and the subsea field at 1,50m water depth, connecting to the existing subsea production systems. An offshore campaign is scheduled to start Q3 2023.
The Annual Offshore Support Journal Conference, Exhibition & Awards 2023 will be held in London (UK), 8-9 February 2023. Use this link to access more information and to register your interest
