Irish offshore wind developer Simply Blue Group secures investment from KEPCO 

Simply Blue Energy OSW is engaged in multiple offshore wind projects in Europe and elsewhere, with a focus on the floating offshore wind sector.

With KEPCO’s investment, the company is aiming to accelerate the expansion of its offshore wind portfolio. The deal is KEPCO’s first investment involving management participation in an offshore wind developer. 

Simply Blue Group co-founder and chief executive Hugh Kelly said, “This investment is a pivotal moment for Simply Blue Energy OSW Ltd. Support from KEPCO provides the strength and resources needed to scale our operations and advance our offshore wind initiatives.”

KEPCO executive vice president Toru Kuwahara said Simply Blue Energy is a developer with a pioneering spirit and extensive expertise in offshore wind. “Through this collaboration, we aim to further advance offshore wind development by both companies,” he said.
