Solstad Offshore has secured contracts for a construction support vessel (CSV) and an anchor handling tug, supply (AHTS) vessel in Australia as it works through a refinancing programme
The Skudeneshavn, Norway-headquartered owner gained charter contracts for CSV Normand Australis and AHTS Normand Sirius from major energy companies and international engineering contractors operating offshore Australia.
These contracts demonstrate offshore activity remains high in the nation due to ongoing subsea developments, drilling programmes and production centre maintenance.
Singapore-flagged, 2009-built Normand Australis has been contracted by a subsea contractor for a minimum of 150 days, commencing December 2023, with options to extend thereafter.
Solstad also reported 2014-built, Norway-flagged, large AHTS Normand Sirius was contracted by an international energy company for a minimum period of 160 days to support a drilling campaign offshore Western Australia.
This contract commences Q2 2024, and the client has options to extend the contract by further 250 days beyond the firm contract period.
Normand Sirius and Normand Australis will be owned by Solstad Newco after the planned refinancing of Solstad is completed.
