The Offshore Marine Services Association (OMSA) has appointed Aaron Smith as president and chief executive officer. Mr Smith’s appointment follows the resignation of Ben Billings, who had led OMSA since 2013. Ben Bordelon, the chairman of OMSA’s board of directors, said, “We are sorry to see Ben go as he has served our organisation and members energetically. We are excited that Aaron Smith has joined us.”
Mr Smith has held a variety of positions in government and public affairs. He was instrumental in the development of the Offshore Service Vessel Dynamic Positioning Authority, a dynamic positioning certification authority. Prior to that he worked in Washington DC as deputy chief of staff to congressman Jeff Landry and in various other roles.
