Alfa Laval PureSOx Connect brings further compliance security and savings opportunities

“PureSOx Connect provides a wide range of benefits for PureSOx customers, whether they have one installation or many throughout their fleet,” says Alfa Laval manager Service Gas Systems, Olaf Van Heerikhuizen. “Its services can save time for crews today, plus help customers predict maintenance needs and reduce operating costs over time.”

Potential for all PureSOx customers

The hardware needed for PureSOx Connect is part of all new PureSOx orders, but it is also provided as a retrofit for existing installations.

“The hardware is readily available and easy to incorporate,” says Mr Van Heerikhuizen. “But it’s only the foundation. It’s the PureSOx Connect services that make the difference for customers, drawing on the diagnostic and operational data that the hardware provides.”

The most basic service, creating user-friendly compliance reports for direct handover to authorities, is available to all PureSOx customers through the Alfa Laval Touch Control system on board.

From simplified compliance to optimised performance

More possibilities are offered via the PureSOx Connect online portal, which is available on a subscription basis. Using the portal, customers can review the data for a single vessel or their entire fleet at once – from anywhere in the world. Three different modules are offered:

• Reporting and compliance
  Using a dashboard view, the reporting and compliance module lets customers generate different types of reports for the vessels and dates they select. These reports are automatically customised based on local legislation for exhaust gas emissions and discharge water, making it easy to report and demonstrate compliance to authorities.
• Service
  The service module makes use of PureSOx diagnostic data, which can be collected and sent securely to the Alfa Laval cloud. With exact data in hand, Alfa Laval engineers can identify and analyse the root causes of an alarm, using it to provide a direct solution or to dispatch a service engineer with the right information and parts.
• Performance and benchmarking
  Data sent securely to the Alfa Laval cloud can also be used for system optimisation. The performance and benchmarking module is able to analyse PureSOx operational data, providing customers with suggestions for fine-tuning individual systems or establishing best practices across a fleet.
