Air Products Membrane Solutions is the world’s largest and most experienced supplier of marine-based membrane systems. For over 40 years, we have been innovating and designing turnkey gas separation systems for a variety of shipboard applications covering alternative fuel systems, chemical transport, and LNG transport, with an emphasis on supporting energy efficient applications. Air Products can accommodate a wide range of nitrogen capacities and purities as well as the physical dimensions your system and space requires. For marine nitrogen systems, reliability and longevity is key, and Air Products manufactures a wide range of nitrogen system configurations and utilizes high-volume parts, ensuring ease of system optimization and upgrades.
Our Differentiator
Our shipboard nitrogen membrane systems utilize thousands of hollow polymer fibers that are bundled together to form a membrane separator. Compressed air is then fed to the bore side of the separator. As the air flows inside the fibers, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor molecules permeate faster than nitrogen molecules through the membrane walls to the low-pressure side of the fibers. The bore-side air is gradually depleted of the fast gases, consequently increasing the nitrogen percentage. The final product can be used directly or stored for later usage.
Our Solutions
Our shipboard systems are fully turnkey. Air Products Membrane Solutions takes full responsibility for the entire system, from nitrogen generators, feed air compressors, and boosters to panels, DBB, bottles, buffer vessels, and more. Our solutions for marine nitrogen generation include:
