Italy-based LNG terminal has set mid-September for a return to full operations
Adriatic LNG has restarted following scheduled summer maintenance that began on 1 August 2025 and said it is ramping up to a resumption of full operations by the middle of September.
"After a month of interruption of operations for scheduled maintenance, our regasification terminal has resumed the gradual injection of natural gas in the network. It will return to full operation by mid-September," the company posted to its timeline on professional networking platform LinkedIn.
With the maintenance-related shutdown set to have completed by the end of August, Adriatic LNG said it has completed unloading an LNG carrier, a few days into September.
“With the unloading of the first LNG carrier just completed, this long and intense period of work on the terminal is concluded,” Adriatic LNG terminal chief operating officer, Alessandro Conta said.
Ms Conta credited the workforce who completed the upgrades to the terminal that saw an added capacity for regasification.
"The many technicians and engineers of the contracting companies made this important success possible, always working in the spirit of security. Meanwhile, work continues to increase the terminal’s regasification capacity from 9.0Bn to 9.5Bn cubic metres per year. The additional capacity will be available from Q1 2026, thus strengthening Adriatic LNG’s strategic role in Italian and European energy security," the company said.
Adriatic LNG notified the market of an open season for capacity subscriptions for the period between January 2026-December 2050 on 29 August. The non-binding phase of the process began on 1 September and ends on 12 September.
