BW LNG chooses partner to optimise procurement strategies, reduce costs, and streamline operations for its fleet of 34 LNG carriers
Norway-headquartered shipowner and operator BW LNG has adopted an e-procurement platform for its fleet of LNG carriers.
According to BW LNG, the move will help to optimise the company’s procurement strategies, reduce costs, and streamline operations during a time of increasing global demand for LNG and cleaner energy solutions.
The platform is provided by Procureship and the partnership will enable BW LNG’s fleet of 34 vessels to utilise real-time analytics in a bid to improve efficiency and be more agile in response to changing market conditions.
“This collaboration allows us to make more data-driven decisions, reduce costs, and provide better value for our services. With Procureship’s technology, we are confident that our fleet will operate more efficiently and help us meet the growing global demand for LNG and cleaner energy,” said BW LNG head of procurement Stefan Dahlström.
BW LNG joins other major shipowners on the Procureship platform, including Angelicoussis Group, Oldendorff Carriers, Starbulk Group, and Zeaborn Ship Management.
Procureship co-founder and chief executive officer Grigoris Lamprou said “our platform will reduce time spent in port” for BW LNG.
With the contract agreed with BW LNG, Procureship said it now has its systems on more than 2,000 vessels from some 85 fleet owners and operators globally.
