Capital Ship Management Corp has received the sixth and final tanker in its latest series of future-ready MR tankers
Akrisios is a 50,000-dwt, eco-type chemical and product MR tanker, built by Hyundai Vietnam Shipyard Co Ltd.
The vessel is assigned with Wind-Assisted Ready and High Voltage Shore Connection Ready (HVSC) notations by ABS, and is the last of six LNG fuel-ready sister ships with an eco-friendly design delivered to Capital in 2023.
The HVSC notation is for vessels equipped with systems to be installed in the future, and the Wind-Assist Ready notation refers to vessels equipped with wind-assist equipment to be installed on board.
In this respect, Capital Ship Management Corp believes Akrisios’ future-proof design is compliant with EEDI Phase 3.
The vessel is annotated with ABS SUSTAIN-1 (2020) that demonstrates adherence to the United Nations’ sustainable development goals. Its Tier III compliance extends to reduced NOx emissions and includes ABS ENVIRO notation, and IHM notation for safe recycling.
Capital Ship Management Corp considers Akrisios one of the most environmentally friendly, technologically advanced and efficient vessels in the global MR fleet.
Nominations are now open for the shipping Vessel of the Year Award at the Maritime Decarbonisation, Europe: Conference, Awards & Exhibition 2023 being held 26 September 2023 - 27 September 2023 in Amsterdam.
