Evangelos Marinakis-led Capital Clean Energy Carriers (CCEC) has lifted its charter backlog above US$3Bn after securing a series of new contracts across its LCO₂, LNG, and LPG/Ammonia carrier fleet
The US-listed Greek owner has fixed its recently delivered second LCO₂/multi-gas carrier, 22,000-m³ Amadeus, on a 12-month charter, effective from late May.
Its sister vessel, Alkimos, which is scheduled for delivery in September, has also been placed on a seven-month time charter.
On 4 June, CCEC also took delivery of Aristogenis, a 45,000-m³ LPG/Ammonia dual-fuel carrier, which has since commenced a one-year charter.
The company has also been active in its core LNG carrier segment. Two vessels scheduled for June delivery, 174,000-m³ Archimidis and Agamemnon, have secured bridging time charter employment with a major energy company through March 2027.
Upon completion of these contracts, both vessels will commence previously announced long-term charters originally allocated to other vessels in the fleet, Athlos and Archon, with firm periods of five and seven years respectively.
All five time charters are expected to generate approximately US$87.4M in gross revenue over their firm periods.
Following these fixtures, CCEC’s contracted revenue backlog now stands at approximately US$3.1Bn, with an average remaining firm charter duration of 6.7 years. This could rise to around US$4.6Bn, with an average duration of 9.8 years, if all extension options are exercised.
CCEC chief executive Jerry Kalogiratos told investors in the company’s Q1 2026 report that the long-term chartering strategy provides significant resilience in a volatile, geopolitically driven market environment.
CCEC reported revenues of US$98M in Q1 2026, compared with US$102M in the same period last year, while net income declined to US$18.3M from US$32.7M.
The owner operates an active fleet of 13 LNG carriers, two LCO₂/multi-gas carriers, one dual-fuel medium gas carrier and one container vessel, while also maintaining an orderbook of 15 vessels, comprising eight LNG carriers, five medium gas carriers and two LCO₂/multi-gas carriers.
