China’s largest LNG carrier builder says the four deliveries in a month represent a record output for the shipyard
Chinese media have reported a record output of LNG carriers (LNGCs) by the nation’s most productive builder of LNGCs.
Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding reportedly delivered four ’high-tech’ LNG carriers over the course of October 2025, according to a round-up of reports by the state-run English-language version of China’s Global Times.
Delivering four LNG carriers in a month is a first for the organisation, which has shipyard facilities in multiple locales in China.
Among the deliveries were Mihzem and Greenergy Moon, fifth-generation Changheng-series carriers that incorporate the latest design concepts, advanced environmental performance and technical equipment.
Among other things, the Chinese reports cited the first reliquefaction system and an exhaust gas recirculation system developed in China.
Chinese media said 50 LNG carrier orders have been placed with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, with more than 20 currently under construction. The Shanghai-headquartered company is forecasting it will deliver 11 LNG carriers by the end of 2025, which will also set a record for China.
