Cyan Renewables, the portfolio company of Seraya Partners, has signed a memorandum of understanding with DRS KWP, a subsidiary of Dae-Ryuk Shipping (DRS) Group, to support the offshore wind industry in South Korea
DRS KWP provides crew transfer vessels (CTVs) and offshore services to meet growing demand from South Korean offshore wind projects.
Cyan Renewables said it hopes to support the rapid expansion of offshore wind in South Korea, alongside DRS KWP. The partnership allows Cyan Renewables to optimise vessel utilisation while leveraging DRS KWP’s local industrial experience and nationwide network.
Cyan Renewables and DRS KWP will collaborate on operations and maintenance tenders in South Korea, with DRS KWP providing CTVs and Cyan Renewables providing service operations vessels.
Cyan Renewables chief executive Lee Keng Lin said, “We recognise the immense potential of offshore wind in South Korea and are excited to partner with DRS KWP, whose local expertise and capabilities complement our own.”
The partnership follows the launch of Cyan Renewables’ South Korea office in April 2024. The company also recently announced it was collaborating with Hyundai Asset Management to invest in the local supply chain and enhance vessel capacity in South Korea.
