A new digital platform optimises dry bulk transhipment operations, streamlining onboard reporting and enhancing fleet activity tracking for improved efficiency
Maritime data integration and analytics specialist Spinergie has announced that Asian Bulk Logistics (ABL), a provider of integrated logistics services and infrastructure solutions for bulk commodities, has chosen Spinergie’s Smart Fleet Management to optimise its global transhipment operations.
This centralised digital solution will streamline onboard reporting procedures for bulk cargo transfers, enhance activity tracking across ABL’s fleet, and enable effective monitoring of remote offshore project areas.
ABL chief technology officer Arief Setiawan stressed the transformative impact of the platform, “The platform acts as a single source of truth for all our operational data, providing us with insights into vessel performance. Integration with our private AIS antenna further enhances this by enabling us to track our fleet’s movements in real-time.”
He added, “Additionally, Spinergie supports our commitment to environmental sustainability by generating customised reports for key ESG metrics, streamlining the reporting process and empowering us to make data-driven decisions for a greener future.”
Spinergie, already noted for its significant contributions to the maritime industry, including being shortlisted for the Environmental Award at Riviera’s Offshore Support Journal Conference, Exhibition and Awards 2024, continues to expand its influence.
This collaboration follows Spinergie’s recent US-Canadian partnership aimed at creating a combined fleet optimisation platform and the company’s strategic growth in the Asia Pacific market.
Spinergie general manager, Americas Patrick Sanguily commented, "Spinergie is proud to support ABL in digitising its fleet management processes. Transhipping operations are inherently complex, requiring the co-ordination of dozens of marine assets in remote operating environments. We are pleased to deliver tangible efficiency gains and to provide the tools that underpin ABL’s commitment to sustainable operations."
ABL now benefits from automated outgoing reports generated from digital daily reports completed by captains in the Spinergie solution. This includes the Statement of Facts report and allows teams to compute all relevant timings and rates for a loading cycle. A designated cycles module computes operational KPIs selected by the client to assess the efficiency of loading rates and compare those cycles.
The new solution has eliminated the need for the team to spend time creating Excel dashboards and PowerPoints, as this analysis is fully integrated into the centralised reporting source; this source point also reduces the need for frequent complex checking procedures.
Spinergie’s support extends beyond the digital solution as it is also sourcing and installing automatic identification system (AIS) antennas for ABL to better track activities and remotely monitor the fleet.
The real-time positioning data obtained through AIS is seamlessly integrated with the solution by automatically populating reports. These reports are further enriched by contextual data such as weather conditions and operational modes. This comprehensive approach delivers a holistic view of fleet activity, empowering ABL to make informed decisions for optimal performance.
