Netherlands-based Next Ocean has built on technology that enables early decision-making during high-risk maritime operations in the offshore sector
Next Ocean, a developer of Vessel Motion Radar technology, has brought a new group of investors on board, led by Amsterdam-based Arches Capital, to help the company to scale.
Calling the investment a partnership with Arches Capital and a "select group of angel investors," Next Ocean said it will scale its operations in "all aspects".
Next Ocean’s Vessel Motion Radar predicts the wave-induced vessel motions three minutes ahead, allowing mariners to "anticipate what is coming their way and accurately time the execution of high-risk operations".
"This prevents accidents and allows the vessels to continue their work in rougher weather," Next Ocean said.
Partnering with Arches Capital and experienced angel investors adds strategic expertise to support Next Ocean in delivering our technology to new clients.
"This partnership is a significant milestone for Next Ocean. It shows we’re in it ‘for the long run’. We’re confident that Arches Capital will be a great partner in growing Next Ocean to an even further established company in the offshore industry. By accelerating our company growth, we can bring our potentially lifesaving technology to operators around the world and expand the relationships built with our existing clients. Because, only together with our clients we can make the seas safer and maritime operations more efficient," Next Ocean CEO Karel Roozen said.
"At Arches Capital, we seek out transformative technologies, and Next Ocean fits that vision perfectly. Their Vessel Motion Radar is a game-changer for the offshore industry, and we’re excited to support them in scaling this innovation worldwide." Arches Capital Managing Partner Frank Appeldoorn said.
Arches Capital calls itself a "group of business angels that is bridging the gap between Venture Capitalist (VCs) and Business Angels, by joining the best of both worlds".
