DP2-class PSV newbuilding is the first delivered from a series of SPP40 vessels from Sinopacific Engineering & Contracting
CSM Energy has taken delivery of the DP2-class platform supply vessel (PSV) CL Spec Lisa, following a naming ceremony in China.
Built at Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment Co in China, this is the first large PSV from the SPEC SPP40 series.
CSM Energy, part of the Columbia Group, will manage the Liberia-flagged PSV, marking its entry into a new generation of modern offshore support tonnage.
The SPP40 series, Sinopacific Engineering & Contracting (SPEC) inhouse design, is a high-capacity, multi-role PSV platform engineered to meet the demanding requirements of offshore logistics and support operations.
Industry sources and class records indicated that CL Spec Lisa was built to Bureau Veritas class, with an overall length of almost 82 m, a beam of 17 m, depth of 8 m, draught of 6 m and clear deck area of 800 m2. Based on class notations, this is a high-sec vessel, certified with BV’s ELECTRIC HYBRID(PM) notation for vessels using electrical energy storage systems for optimised power management, including peak shaving and power smoothing to improve efficiency. A Fire-fighting ship 1 notation signifies that a vessel is equipped with specialised, independent firefighting systems suitable for combating external fires. It mandates specific water monitor capacities, typically around 1,200 m3/hr or higher, along with supporting pump systems.Additionally, CL Spec Lisa carries BV’s COMF-NOISE and COMF-VIB 3, indicating low noise and vibration levels for enhanced crew comfort.
Propulsion is supplied by two azimuth thrusters, allowing it to reach speeds of 13 knots.
CSM Energy reported the PSV has a large, optimised deck area for cargo handling, advanced propulsion and manoeuvring systems, and enhanced accommodation standards to ensure crew comfort and safety during extended operations.
CSM Energy managing director, Kyriacos Tsangarisz, said the newbuild positions the shipmanager “well for future offshore market opportunities.”
The shipmanager said the newbuild PSV will be deployed to support a broad range of offshore activities, including platform supply, logistics, and field support operations.
