Two technology companies have merged to expand their technology solution reach in maritime.
Embron Group is combining its two subsidiaries, Hatteland Display and Elektronix, into one solutions group that manufactures maritime displays and computers.
Hatteland Technology will deliver a greater range of electronics, computers and IT solutions to shipping, especially for integrated bridge, engineroom and dynamic positioning systems.
It becomes a powerhouse in Norwegian electronics and computer system manufacturing and delivery providing industrial computing, security and surveillance and networking solutions.
Hatteland Technology will have a combined workforce of around 200 people and annual revenues totalling Nkr600M (US$70M), based on 2018 figures.
“This new chapter in our collective development, which will take effect over the coming months, will enable us to bring more value to our customers,” said Hatteland Technology president and chief executive Trond K Johannessen.
He does not anticipate any disruption to services during the merger process.
“The integration of both companies’ accumulated technical knowledge and strategies will inevitably manifest itself throughout the verticals we operate in, with positive consequences,” said Mr Johannessen.
“Hatteland Technology will therefore be trading from a position of considerable strength and dynamism, and we look forward to capitalising upon the symbiotic possibilities inherent in this new business undertaking.”
