Atlas Ocean Voyages has unveiled plans for its first luxury expedition sailing yacht
Set to be delivered in 2028, the cruise ship will deploy dual-fuel propulsion, powered by Wärtsilä engines, working alongside a triple-masted carbon rig carrying precision-engineered carbon-fibre sails.
Featuring three sailing masts, Atlas Adventurer integrates sail-assisted technology that, when conditions allow, reduces fuel consumption by up to 40%.
Alongside these features, electric-hybrid propulsion via a 9-MW marine battery system will also be a feature of the propulsion. Zero-speed fin stabilisers and two vertical fin stabilisers will provide precision stability both at anchor and under sail.
The ship will accommodate 400 guests in 200 all-suite rooms, with a crew of 275. Amenities include seven dining venues, five lounges, a marina platform with an ocean pool, and a fleet of Zodiacs for polar exploration.
Its inaugural season will focus on Asia (Japan, South Korea, southeast Asia) and Africa (Seychelles, Madagascar, South Africa).
The company was established in 2019, with its first ship, World Navigator, launching in 2021.
